In 2019, Taiwan-born artist Jill Tsai founded the Travel Things Museum, inspired by her journeys around the globe in search of new artistic inspiration. As she explored diverse cultures, Jill encountered artisans, craftspeople, and creators whose unique "things" captivated her imagination. These encounters—sometimes in the most unexpected places—sparked connections between the objects, despite their origins in vastly different regions.
Over time, Jill’s collection grew into a rich tapestry of intriguing pieces, each with its own story. With a desire to share these cross-cultural treasures and their narratives with a wider audience, the idea for the Travel Things Museum was born. What started as a personal exploration evolved into a vibrant museum, celebrating the artistry and creativity she encountered across the world.
